Lifesum Food & Calorie Tracker 앱 리뷰

Solid Tracker

Been using Lifesum on and off for 5 years but I always comeback

No longer convenient

I’m not liking how this update removed the option to add half an item of something. For serving sizes if I didn’t eat much I’d put .5 or .7 but now you can’t do that making it inconvenient. I also do not care to pay for a subscription but it seems like every single time I open the app it’s all it asks me and it’s becoming annoying

Wasted potential

Nice look and UI so I paid for full version. 3 weeks in and I will not renew. Without the new “handy” AI tool its too tedious to add in “at home” recipes and catalog of foods seems very inconsistent. With the AI it has proven to be obscenely inaccurate on calorie and macro estimates. Can only edit most things by grams/ounces, not volume measures. ZERO option to import external recipes via URL or even copy/paste—how about leverage the AI for that??

New updates

Super laggy, doesn’t add food correctly. Likes to freeze a lot. Too many bugs. Doesn’t even add food anymore….

AI slop

I’ve been using lifesum premium for YEARS and it was great. This latest update completely destroyed the app and made it unusable. I don’t want AI slop, I don’t want to feel like I’m using ChatGPT to log my food, I don’t want it to try to estimate the nutrition of something I know is already in their database and is accurate. I really hope they’ll roll this back because honestly it made the app worthless.

Very happy and worth the cost

I have had a great experience so far. I love the multiple ways to track. I appreciate that it gives different options like for certain types of diet/macro tracking. Also I really like that it gives features like I.F.

Novice

Very difficult to enter foods but I do like the detail of nutrition and exercise

AI Update Makes App Unusable

The new updates incorporating AI has completely destroyed this app, making it unusable. If you want to incorporate AI, okay, but removing users’ ability to manually add information (like the app has always allowed) makes the app impossible to use accurately. Please restore users’ previous experience!!!

Hate the update

This update flies not allow for specifics. Not a fan at all.

Great app. BUT…

Price is wayyyy too high for what it’s worth. And there’s not even a monthly plan selection it’s only 3 6 or 12 month subscriptions. Pathetic. I guess the prices of healthier foods isn’t the only thing breaking our bank accounts these days huh???

Makes all the difference!

Really helps me get enough food in the right categories. I tend to starve myself then binge when I don’t have an easy meal plan to follow. Lifesum gives me that!

Good but Too Expensive

I love the plans, the communication with other health apps, and the design. It’s too expensive, though!

AI update is terrible

Absolutely ruined the app. I can't even figure out how to change the ingredients in the meal. I can't comprehend how they went from a decently functional app to this. It's almost unusable. I regret buying a year

Loved it until…

Have been using this app for over a year, and it was by far the gentlest and easiest way for me to track food, calories, and exercise. The new update, however, has basically made the app unusable. The AI is more time consuming, fristrating, AND less accurate than it was before. Super disappointing to see.

Great app but actively removing helpful meal prep features for no reason but to push their bad AI

I’m a long time paying subscriber and recently they removed the ability to create a decimal without pressing zero first. Previously I could click “.5” and it would type “.5” but not when you click “.5” it enters “5”. I use decimals on a daily basis and it’s a pointless change. They also removed the ability to have 3 decimal places. So if I meal prep and create a bulk meal and want to input “0.259” it will instead input “.25” which can be a good amount off when dealing with a large recipe. Both of these issues are happening with the AI feature turned off so maybe the other new interface still works but I’ve tested that interface and can’t handle it.

Terrible bait and switch

Would not allow me to input amounts for example 1 teaspoon of peanut butter was 300 calories.

Easy to Use Tracker

Tracking my calories is a game changer in managing my health, Lifesum makes this easy to do.

New Update is not great

This app used to be nice and easy to use, but recently it’s been super laggy to the point where this app is unusable. I also cannot enter the decimal (ex: .5) when trying to add less than a full serving. It makes no sense why that would be something for the app developers to get rid of.

Avoid + Beware

I have used this app for 2 years paying for the premium subscription through the App Store. Roughly when the redesigned app launched I lost access to my account. I’ve spent the past 6 weeks trying to get access to all my data. Lifesum customer support denied I ever had an account, refused to acknowledge my Apple receipt proved I had paid for a subscription and then accused me of deleting my account. An incredibly disappointing customer experience. I cannot recommend this app or this company.

Love it

it’s a great app to track your calories

LOVE IT

Great app honestly

Overdid it with the update

It was already a great app. The text option is cool, but all in all the update made it way more complicated. Simplicity is key.

Disappointing change

So this was my go to app for many many months for tracking my diet. It was excellent but now all of a sudden the decimal point no longer works : for instance if I type in cottage cheese and it pops up one cup, and I open it up to track, I used to be able to use decimal .5 for half a serving but it no longer lets you do that and a lot of times I don’t have a full serving of whatever I’m looking up. I might have a half or a third so the fact that I can no longer do that makes it impossible to track my food anymore. I’ll be looking to change, probably to MyFitnessPal pal. I just have no clue why the decimal point stopped working from adding in how many servings you had or a partial serving.

I don’t like the new update

When I first got the app it wouldn’t load that I paid for premium. Then when I was trying to add stuff to my meal it would close down the ai thing. It’s inconsistent on the ai thing making it harder to properly track

iPad compatibility

Please please please fix the iPad app so that I can enter food with it. The green plus button doesn’t appear on my iPad and I haven’t found a way to enter food consumption. Otherwise an amazing app, love the AI feature and being able to take a photo of a plate of varied food and get a macro count of everything.

Love the app

It’s a great app! I use it to track my food and progress!

Difficulty Entering Portion Amounts

I have been using this app for 3 years now and up until recently, truly enjoyed everything about. Recently however, something has changed and I can no longer enter .5 or other fractional amounts of a serving size.

App does not work

I have previously purchased the premium version of this app and it worked well. I purchased recently and was charged double of what my offer was. The app never comes out of basic (free) mode and continually locks me into multiple different screens trying to sell me the premium version. Apple refused to refund my money and said to go to Lifesum. Lifesum said they can't refund money Apple took and to go back to them. Apple denied a second time. Unless you like to throw money away I would strongly recommend against using this app.

They’ve ruined it

It used to be a great app. The AI is now the main focus, and it works horribly. There’s no way to manually input things properly anymore. You can insert text in a chat to the AI bot, but it won’t let you pick the information it’s choosing from. For example, I tried tracking Kodiak pancake mix and it kept pulling from a data source that had the wrong nutrition information, and there was no way to change it. I manually changed the nutrition and it still tracked it as the incorrect data it has. You used to be able to select from a list of options for what you were searching for. So I could type “Kodiak pancake mix” and find a listing that was *accurate* and then put the grams or serving size in to track. The interface has no such option now and is useless for anyone looking to actually accurately track their intake. But if you’re looking for inaccurate calorie and macronutrient tracking (seems like a waste of time to me, though), this is the app for you.

Multimodal needs Polishing

Some of the AI-powered features in multimodal mode are INCREDIBLE. Eg, being able to take a picture of a meal and get a shockingly accurate breakdown is a game changer. I think this could be PERFECT if some of the functionality from the original free version was brought over. Most critically: - Visibility of day & meal reviews - Ability to manually categorize foods to certain meals - Ability to search for and add foods

Glitchy and buggy

Never used to have issues with app getting stuck. Buttons not work when tapped. App doesn’t snap to todays date when opened like it used to. Currently app searching for better

Liked at first but not worth the cost

Honestly, really don’t love this app. It was good at first but then the barcode scanning stopped working. Every time I scanned something, hit done, it would disappear like I never scanned it. After several weeks of this I cancelled my membership. I wish you can change the macro counts, because getting fiber is important to me. Although it does track it, I think the scanning issues and tracking issues is more of a hassle than it’s worth. Too many tricky nuances; the free apps are more simple but provide the same purpose.

Lifeline

Used it for years thank you Lifesum for being my lifeline!

Horrible update

The update has been so frustrating. I’ve had Lifesum for years and it worked great. This new update constantly lags, doesn’t upload good correctly and makes the tracking process such a headache. The ai update was a mistake.

Doesn't work on my IPAD !

I just signed up, put in my info. Paid the annual fee. Went to a screen with big yellow flowers and green leaf -- can't get it to do anything else. I want my money back !

I lost 60 lbs on this app.

When I was 16, I lost 60 lbs using lifesum. This was years ago, back when their logo was a cursive L, and they had these adorable food cartoon characters that would pop up on the app, sometimes in running gear or with weights. I loved those characters, and funnily enough, that design helped me to keep coming back to the app. Well, life changed, and now I have a family and need to lose my pregnancy weight. I’ve tried time and time again with Lifesum since it helped me so much the first go around. The app now has hidden a lot of features behind a paywall, and it has such a “sleek modern design” that I don’t want to go on it. It’s boring and not appealing. This app used to be the best weight loss app there was, and now I can’t stand it. Stop putting so many features behind paywalls, at least give an option on appearance, and stay true to your roots. The company seems to have lost its character in hopes of staying trendy.

Pretty satisfied

My only problem with the app and the system is that when I enter or take a picture of an item or actual plate of food and it does the calculations, it doesn’t allow me to do a half order or half the amount of the food that it sees. It also. Will say it’s eggs and bacon, even though it’s egg whites and bacon. My biggest issue is with not being able to Lessen the amount of an item.

This app makes a difference

I appreciate the extra level of accountability Lifesum brings by not just being a calorie tracker. I like how it evaluates/scores each meal. Help me to choose the best options to fuel my body.

$$

Free version is great, but if you do the subscription, it’s not worth the price.

Took away half portions

If I split a full portion ready meal with my partner I will still track it as a half portion of that but the update makes that impossible now! It’s very annoying because this app works well other than the search function doesn’t always work well…

Nice in theory

If you dont intend on paying for it its pretty much useless. I wish there were more apps like myfitnesspal that dont ruin their app with subscriptions.

Awful Update

For some reason the premium features are made less easy to use than the free version. Have not been able to figure out how to add multiple foods at one time in the premium version.

Stick with the free version

I was enjoying the free version of this calorie tracking app. HOWEVER, I purchased the premium version for 3 months and it is nearly impossible to select the time of day I ate whatever I need to log. For example, I missed putting in cheddar popcorn (crummy lunch, I know) and because it is 1130pm, it records it as dinner. Don't waste your money 😒

Keeps getting worse

Going downhill fast, they constantly introduce breaking changes to their app to the point where it takes me twice as long to track my calories as it did a year ago

Updated Version has some Faults

I I’m annoyed that when I put in three ingredients and their measurements, it will not collect them. I don’t notice until the end because the process seemed seamless without any glitches. I just put in two eggs in my app 5 times in a row and it won’t take. It’s frustrating.

Extremely buggy

If this app wasn’t so glitchy it would be a 5 star app. The devs really need to fix all the bugs soon.

Inaccurate Food Tracking

I really wanted to like this app but the food tracking is not accurate. I got information from a restaurant’s website and tried to put it in for an item. It wouldn’t let me because the app said “the calories didn’t seem correct” there is no way to force it through either. I also used the barcode feature for a different item and the items’s nutrition facts were not correct on the app. I paid for premium 3 months so I’m only out $15 thankfully but I don’t recommend this app.

New update

I’m not really liking the new update. It’s more confusing to use

It’s such an amazing app

It’s so helpful and intuitive
